Boss Pokémon:

Boss Pokémon are rare types of Pokémon. They are stronger and larger than normal Pokémon and fight more aggressively than normal Pokémon when in battle. They cannot be captured but can drop several rare items upon defeat.

Boss Pokémon do not display levels above their head, instead they are scaled based on the highest-level Pokémon in the player's party when the boss Pokémon is engaged in battle.

There are two different types of Boss Pokémon each spawning in different ways. Mega Evolved Pokémon and Colored Boss Pokémon.

Drops can include several rare items after they are defeated. Different Boss Pokémon tiers have different possible drops, but all of them can drop up to 3 different items (one from each group) as well as the non-boss drops for that species.

A full guide on Boss Pokémon and their types, drops and levels can be found here: https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Boss_Pokémon

Breeding:

Breeding is a process where two Pokémon reproduce, resulting in a new level 1 Pokémon. In general, you need two Pokémon of opposite genders to breed. They must also be part of the same Egg Group. There are also several exceptions in breeding.

A full guide including explanations of Egg Groups, hatching, growth, breeding process and requirements can be found here: https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Breeding

Dynamax:

Dynamax is a mechanic that allows Pokémon to grow giant. Once the Pokémon is dynamaxed, it'll be able to use Max Moves, which are powerful damaging moves with secondary effects. Every status move becomes Max Guard when Dynamaxed.

Sound like gibberish? A full guide on Dynamax can be found here: https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Dynamax

Legendary Pokémon:

Legendary Pokémon are Pokémon that are characterised by their rarity and high base stat totals. They are very difficult to obtain because of their difficulty to locate, high levels and low catch rates. They are also guaranteed to have a minimum of three perfects IVs when captured or spawned in.

A full guide on Legendary Pokémon, their spawning and capture rates can be found here: https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Legendary_Pokemon

Mega Evolution:

Mega Evolution is a transformation that certain Pokémon can undergo while holding a compatible Mega Stone, provided their trainer also has a Mega Bracelet. This transformation changes the Pokémon's appearance and increases it's stats, and may also change types and abilities. Mega Evolution can be used outside of battle through an external move, Mega Evolve.

A full guide on Mega Evolution, including requirements, usage and eligible Pokémon can be found here: https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Mega_Evolution

Shiny Pokémon:

Shiny Pokémon are Pokémon that have an unnatural colour. The colour can be mild, only a few shades darker or lighter than the original, or drastic. They are not to be confused with Boss Pokémon, which are tinted differently than Shiny Pokémon and cannot be caught. Each Pokémon has a very rare chance of being Shiny, and Shiny Pokémon are much sought after for their unique look and rarity. Shiny colour gives no advantage in battle, with the effect being purely cosmetic.

A full guide on Shiny Pokémon, encounter types and whether they are affected by different shiny multiplier rates can be found here: https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Shiny_Pokémon

Z-Crystals:

Z-Crystals are a type of held item that allow Pokémon to use powerful Z-moves, a powered up version of the regular move which may only be used once per battle. Physical/special moves gain a large power increase, and status moves cause stat changes or other boosting effects. Moves, abilities or items like Embargo, Kluts or Trick cannot make a Pokémon drop the Z-Crystal that it's holding. There are 24 types of Z-Crystals and some are exclusive to certain Pokémon.
