General Commands:

R:
Send out/retrieve Pokémon.

O: Show/Hide GUI.

V: If an owned Pokémon is sent out, pressing this key while the cursor is over a wild Pokémon will cause the currently sent out Pokémon to chase down the wild Pokémon and engage in battle with it.

G: Use currently selected move skill.

B: Cycles through external moves, if a Pokémon has more than one.

I: Opens the Pokédex. If the player is looking at a Pokémon, the Pokédex will navigate directly to that Pokémon's entry, and will be registered as "seen" if it hasn't been seen or caught before.

Y: If the player is looking at another player who is in a battle, this key will allow the player to spectate their battle.

U: Opens up the player's Trainer Card.

Catching Pokémon:

Pokémon spawn in different biomes at different times (day, dusk or night) and some are rarer than others. Some Pokémon cannot be found in the wild at all, most of which are evolved Pokémon. A few others, namely Legendary Pokémon, Fossil Pokémon and Porygon, are obtained through special methods. You also cannot catch Boss Pokémon owned by other trainers.

Once you have found your target Pokémon, send out your Pokémon and battle it. Although it is possible to just throw a Poké Ball and catch it right now, weakening the Pokémon will increase the chance of capture. Use moves that you know will not defeat the opposing Pokémon, as they cannot be captured if they faint.

Once they are weakened, go to your bag in the battle menu and select a Poké Ball, or any ball of your choice. If it is successful, the Poké Ball will stop shaking and a message will appear saying that the Pokémon has been captured. The Pokémon will appear in your GUI on the left, or be deposited into the PC in the event that your party is full.

Crafting Poké Balls:

You need:

  • A crafting table
  • A furnace
Although each Poké Ball differs, they are all crafted similarly.

  • Smelt 3 Apricorns of the required colours for the desired Poké Ball (a list is found on a separate forum).
  • Lay them in a row on the crafting table to produce a base from the Apricorns.

Then, you will require a base part of the Poké Ball:

  • Lay three iron ingots, aluminium ingots, silver ingots, or platinum ingots in a row on the crafting table to produce the iron/aluminium/silver/platinum base of the ball:

  • Craft a stone button (wooden buttons will not work).
  • Put the lid, button, and base in a crafting interface (any arrangement will do), and a Poké Ball will be crafted.

The list of Poké Balls is expansive, you can find a wiki document with the list here: https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Poke_Balls

Using the PC:

Want to have more than 6 Pokémon? Well, first you'll need a PC! PCs can be found in randomly spawning Pokémon Centers or crafted like this:

You can put Pokémon in the PC, or take them out. If you no longer wish to have a certain Pokémon, you can release it by selecting it and then clicking the garbage can icon. To view the summary of a Pokémon in the PC, right-click it and select the section of the Pokémon's information that you wish to use. There is also a PC at /spawn.

Healing your Pokémon:

To heal your Pokémon, you'll need a healer. Healers can be found in Pokémon Centers that spawn randomly throughout the world or crafted with the following recipe:

There is also a healer at /warp heal.
